Vintage Victorian Silver locket and collar c.1880. This Victorian hinged locket has a plain back and front with a simple pattern around the edge. The locket is attached to an elaborate chain with a large bolt ring at the bale to fasten the chain.
The Victorian locket and collar was very popular in the Victorian era and was used to keep photographs on one side of the locket and a lock of hair on the other, usually of a sweetheart. The locket measures 3.5cm / 1.3" in length and 2.7cm / 1.06" in width, the necklace is 45cm / 17.7" in length.
